FEES AND REBATES
Shire Psychology Practice is committed to delivering accessible, affordable, and high-quality care. To ensure this, we provide rates that are below those recommended by APS.

We offer both in-person appointments and online telehealth sessions to accommodate your preferences and needs.

You do not need a referral from your GP to access psychological services unless you are interest in accessing government rebates or funding (Medicare rebate).
MEDICARE REBATES - PRIVATE HEALTH FUNDS - DVA
Medicare Rebates:
Medicare rebates are available for up to ten individual Allied Mental Health Services per calendar year to patients referred by a general practitioner, psychiatrist or paediatrician.

Private Health Funds:
Most private health funds offer rebates on psychological services if the client has extras cover. Rebates vary depending on your fund and your level of cover. Please contact your health fund for the latest rebate information.

DVA:
If you meet the eligibility criteria established by the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) you can obtain a referral from your General Practitioner (GP) to access psychology sessions. The availability of psychology services is contingent upon the classification of your DVA card (white/gold card). For further details, please directly contact the DVA.
