Abstract Background

I am originally from the vibrant city of Bologna, Italy, where I pursued my extensive studies. I worked as both a clinical psychologist and a researcher at the University of Bologna. In 2005 love lead me to embark on a new chapter of my life on the shores of Australia.

While living in Italy, I held the position of Assistant Editor for one of the most prestigious international journals “Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics” for 4 years. I am currently a referee for this journal.

I have published over 20 international papers and books chapters on mood disorders, anxiety disorders and psychosomatic medicine.

While my passion remains in private practice, I remain committed to keeping up to date with the current literature and practices in the field of psychology and psychiatry. I continuously strive to enhance my clinical expertise by attending national and international workshops and conferences.

In my practice, I prioritise providing compassionate and personalised care to individuals and couples seeking therapy.

MY BACKGROUND

My belief is that each client is unique and important. For this reason, I provide treatment plans that are tailored to each individual’s needs, challenges and goals.

My role as a clinician is to provide a safe non-judgemental environment to facilitate a therapeutic setting in which a client can explore recurring maladaptive thoughts, fears and concerns and learn effective coping strategies to overcome the problems experienced. I also foster a positive sense of wellbeing through a holistic approach.

I am very committed to the values and ethics of my profession and strongly believe that the collaborative relationship in the therapeutic setting helps individuals to be in touch with their own strength and capabilities to promote positive changes.

I am proficient in conducting therapy in both ENGLISH and ITALIAN.
